# Feetle

> Feetle (feetle.games) is a free daily four-letter word ladder played in the browser. Each day's puzzle gives a start word; change one letter per step, making a real four-letter word each time, until you reach FEET in as few steps as possible. feetle.games is an independent fan-made site that makes and numbers its own daily puzzles, publishes each day's hints the same day and its full answer the next day at 08:00 UTC, and adds an unlimited mode, a hint helper (solver) for any start word and a playable archive. No account, no ads, nothing to install.

- Words are four letters and the target is always FEET.
- Each step changes exactly one letter and must make a real word.
- A new puzzle every day, the same for everyone.
- Par is the length of the shortest possible ladder; results read On par or +1, +2 and so on.
- The daily puzzle changes at 08:00 UTC (4 a.m. EDT / 3 a.m. EST, 1 a.m. PDT / midnight PST, 7 p.m. AEDT / 6 p.m. AEST in Sydney).
- Daily par follows the weekday: Monday and Tuesday 4, Wednesday and Thursday 5, Friday and Saturday 6, Sunday 7. Puzzle #1 is Oct 18, 2026.
- The word list has 3,852 four-letter words (ENABLE, public domain); start words come from 2,507 everyday words (12dicts 2of12inf, public domain).
- Undo, three hint levels and give up are built in. Stats and streaks are kept in the browser.
- Each daily puzzle has an answer page at /answer/<number>-<start word in lowercase>, published within half an hour of the switch with four hints. The full answer joins it the next day at 08:00 UTC, once the puzzle is over.
- The solver at /solver is a hint helper for any four-letter word and any target: it gives the number of steps left, which letter to change and the next word with that letter hidden, never the answer, so it also helps with Feetle puzzles from other sites.

- Not affiliated with any other website: feetle.games is an independent fan-made game, and its daily puzzles differ from other Feetle sites.
- Not the League of Legends Feetle (a champion guessing game): this is the word ladder.
- Not paid: no paywall, no subscription, no account and no ads.
